Hello
We have chartered a catamaran and are planning a couple of days in and around Cayo Largo in February, so we will not be in an all-inclusive resort but on our boat. I have a couple of very practical questions:
- It seems that there are a couple of restaurants/bars on the island, but are they open in the evening or just during the day?
- Is there a grocery shop? Is there any possibility to buy fruit or vegetables? Or just souvenirs and rum?
- Is 'euro' accepted everywhere as CAD?
- Is 3G or 4G available on the island?
Thanks you so much for your help

Re: Cayo Largo as independent travelers
All hotels except the one in the Marina are all-inclusive, and that is where you would find anything that isn't just souvenirs. Just possible the nursery would sell some of its produce: tomatoes, lettuce, etc. No resident population, so no obvious need for groceries.
Euro notes likely as there is an flight from Italy. I had no problem converting 10EUR for 15CAD (and 15GBP for 25CAD) for tips. Otherwise any non-US credit card for prices in USD.
3G at least, but also depends on the roaming arrangements you have - almost certainly hideously expensive.

There is a store for provisioning in the marina behind the dive shop - limited , they have alcohol, canned goods etc.
