Anyone know anything about this company building a hotel in Cayo Largo?
Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company. The article states that construction began last year ????????

Est-ce que ceux qui sont de retour récemment ont des nouvelles de ce supposé nouvel hôtel?

I've been following rumours in the past, regarding Sol Melia building a 5-star resort in Cayo Largo. I've posted this old article that discusses a Paradisus Cayo Largo... but I think the idea was put on the "back burner":

However, today this article expresses that the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company last year began building a $75 million 200-room 5-star hotel on Cayo Largo:

Does anyone else know any more information regarding this?

Was in CL in early dec 07, did not see any new construction, but I was’nt looking for that either, too busy farniente.

J’étais à CL au début décembre 07 et je n’ai vu aucun nouveau chantier de construction. Mais faut dire que je n’en ai pas cherché non plus. J’étais bien trop occupé a « farniente ».

Ce que j'ai entendu à la fin décembre c'est qu'un émir du Quatar faisait construire un hôtel privé sur une des plages de l'est...un hôtel seulement pour ses invités et dans lequel seulement des hommes travailleraient...plage privée aussi....alors pour ceux qui aimaient les plages de l'est...adios la vie de Robinson Crusoe..
a private hotel for an emir from Quatar..where only men would work plus a private guarded beach as well, this was the rumor at the end of December...
